What were the steps taken in achieving the design?

I led a team in conducting this evaluation and we began with identifying the problem. As with any design problem, one must take time to clearly define the problem that needs to be solved and understand the value of solving that problem.

In this case, the NGO admitted that they knew that they could leverage their website better but they did not know what to fix. We  then identified key objectives that would set the focus for the evaluation.

Then the observations and recommendations gathered by the team were grouped as follows: High Priority, Page Specific and General. The high-priority were then matched with recommendations. This was then the springboard for the creation of a sitemap, website wireframe, and form field with the mindset that the design should always add value to business objectives and user goals.

How was the user considered in developing the design?

We considered who the website stakeholders were and identified the reasons why they were on the website. This set the direction on how we should craft the website by ensuring that the pages and features essential to these stakeholders were accessible, visible and functional on the website.
